Book Review: Angelfall (Penryn and the End of Days Book 1) by Susan Ee

It’s been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back. Anything, including making a deal with Raffe, an injured enemy angel. Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they journey toward the angels’ stronghold in San Francisco, where Penryn will risk everything to rescue her sister and Raffe will put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.(Description from amazon.com)

Wow, wow, wow! You must read this. Suspense, action, danger, romance. This book was a winner cover to cover. Angels seem to be the new vampires, but this one was 10x better than some of the other angel books I have read, like Hush Hush (gave up after the second book) and Fallen (gave up after the first book). I LOVED these characters, maybe because they were written without being so cheesy. Penryn is a strong female character and not at all needy.  Raffe was so witty (in addition to being hot and sorta dangerous!)  It was gritty, violent and bloody and I can't wait for the second one. And yes, if it is done correctly it would make a great movie.
